Today, The Countess of Wessex as Patron of Greater London Fund for the Blind, has opened a new Geranium Shop on Kensington High Street in London W8. Established in 1921, the Greater London Fund for the Blind (GLFB) is a fundraising charity generating much-needed funds to improve the lives of blind and visually impaired people in London. After press release: As Royal Patron of the GLFB, The Countess was presented with a bouquet to mark the occasion, following a tour of the shop during which she was able to meet staff, volunteers and donors from the local community without whom this shop would not be able to generate the income which sustains our ability to help even more people who are blind or partially sighted.
HRH’s morning visit concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to great applause, marking the official opening of this new venture, part of which will be featured in a Sky television documentary marking HM The Queen’s 90th year. There are 6 videos of HRH's visit at Getty. To view them click here. For full press release visit this link.
Geranium Shop For The Blind is a chain of charity shops that sell a selection of second hand clothing, footwear and bric-a-brac items. Geranium shops provide a vital source of income for GLFB's charitable work. You can support this fundraising charity by donating your goods or making a purchase. You can learn more here.

Afterwards, HRH as Patron of Tomorrow's People, attended a Women of Achievement Lunch at the Caledonian Club in London SW1. This was most likely more of a private engagement and pictures (if such were taken) rather won't be shared.
