The Countess of Wessex to become President of The Devon County Agricultural Association in 2017

The Royal Tour of India & Bhutan has finished today, I have written my last post and I can finally catch up with news related to The Countess of Wessex. On the 13th April, The Devon County Agricultural Association announced that Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex has accepted an invitation to be President Elect for 2016 and will become President in 2017. The show goes back to 1872, when the Devon County Agricultural Association was formed to undertake promotion of the Devon County Show.

Mary Quicke MBE, Chairman of Council of the Devon County Agricultural Association, said: “I’m thrilled and inspired that The Countess of Wessex has chosen to become the President Elect of the Devon County Show this year. HRH is passionate and committed to farming and food production, and it is wonderful to have her support.”

The Countess is a staunch supporter of agricultural shows and is Patron of the Association of Show and Agricultural Associations (ASAO). HRH The Prince of Wales is patron of the Devon County Show and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall was President in 2008. Both, The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited the Devon County Show seven years ago in May 2009. For full press release click here.
