Annual survey of British Royal Family Work in numbers.

Yesterday, The Times has published an annual survey of royal engagements, compiled by Times reader Tim O'Donovan, who does so every year based on engagements announced in the Court Circular.

HM The Queen, who will be 90 on 21st April, has carried out an amazing number of engagements, total of 341 (including 35 outside UK). The Duke of Edinburgh, 94 years old, carried out 217 engagements in UK with 33 more - during visits abroad. Those numbers are incredible, you must admit.

Princess Anne, an unsung hero of the British royal family, has been the busiest of the royals, with 549 engagements in total (including 88 abroad). She was closely followed by her brother Prince Charles with equally high number of 527. The Duchess of Cornwall carried out 235 engagements in total.

In 2015, The Earl of Wessex undertaken 354 engagements in total, while The Countess of Wessex 218 (including 49 abroad). I did notice less posts on my blog under the 'royal diary 2015' tag, however it didn't feel like The Countess has slowed down (the numbers are bit lower when compared with 2014). Not to mention, there is a worload 'behind the scenes'. Plus TRH's have 2 young children who go to school on regular basis.

Also, the 2014 was incredibly busy for both Earl & Countess due to 50th birthday of Prince Edward - TRH's were visiting towns throughout the historical Saxon Kingdom of Wessex during the Earl’s Best of Wessex birthday tour.

This, 2016 year, should be equally busy with the 60th Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award and HM The Queen's 90th birthday celebrations. HM said herself: "I am looking forward to a busy 2016. Although I have been warned I may have Happy Birthday sung to me more than once or twice."

As for the future plans of The Countess of Wessex, not much has been shared in the royal diary so far, though I'm sure most of the future engagements are still in the planning. However I'm really looking forward to the Ski Championships in Meribel, France. HRH will attend the event for the second time, from 2nd to 5th February. I only hope that this time I will have more pictures to share with you.

Then there's that secret challenge of HRH for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, so far I have no idea what it will be. However it would be fun to cast some votes in the comments section, and later check who has been correct in their predictions. I suspect physical strength will be involved.
Also, I hope British Royal Family will take a hint from Scandinavian royals and provide us at least one bling event with tiaras on display. And there better be some good pictures of all members of royal family!

Then, there's this weird DM article about The Countess, which is partly postive and partly negative, with some weird comparisons. You can check it yourselves. Click here.
