HRH will serve as Global Ambassador of 100WHF’s Next Generation initiatives

I have some wonderful news to share. 100 Women in Hedge Funds ("100WHF"), a leading nonprofit organization for investors and professionals in the alternatives industry, today announced that HRH The Countess of Wessex will serve as Global Ambassador of 100WHF’s Next Generation initiatives.

Launched in January 2015, the goal of 100WHF’s most recent initiative is to inspire, mentor and provide access and peer network support to young women looking to start their careers in finance and investments.

Those who check HRH's diary in advance may have already noticed that The Countess will soon visit New York (10-11th November) and afterwards Canada, Toronto (12-14th November). Now we know the purpose behind the NY visit.

The Countess of Wessex will attend several events in New York to launch her new role as Global Ambassador of 100WHF’s Next Generation initiatives, including:

• 100WHF 500th education event on November 10th, at which our New York Gala honorees will share their perspectives on Shareholder and Corporate Governance practices; more info here.
• Next Gen breakfast discussion on November 11th with young women currently in the industry; 
• New York Gala fundraiser on November 11th, where money will be raised for 100WHF Foundation’s Next Generation initiatives, more info here.

Over the course of the next three years, The Countess of Wessex will represent 100WHF’s Next Generation initiatives as she travels to several of 100WHF’s locations around the world. As Global Ambassador, she will serve as an advocate for increased diversity in the financial services industry, and for raising the industry’s visibility and appeal as young women consider career paths. Additionally, she will participate in conversations in which she can share 100WHF’s global knowledge of best practices around cultivating interest and engagement from the next generation of women entering the industry.
